Finding a Therapist

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the counselling process. The therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of positive outcomes, and it's important that you feel comfortable, understood, and supported.

If I am not the right fit for your needs, the following directories and organizations may help you find a qualified mental health professional:

International & English-Speaking Therapy
  • Psychology Today: A large therapist directory with filters for location, specialties, languages, insurance, and online therapy.
  • TherapyRoute: An international directory of mental health professionals and services.
Mexico
  • Hola Therapy: A network of English-speaking therapists serving clients throughout Mexico.
  • Doctoralia México: A healthcare directory that allows you to search for psychologists, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals throughout Mexico.
Questions to Consider When Choosing a Therapist
  • What concerns or goals would you like support with?
  • Do you prefer in-person or online sessions?
  • Is it important that your therapist speaks a particular language?
  • Are there specific approaches or specialties you are looking for?
  • Do you feel comfortable and understood after your initial consultation?

Finding the right fit can take time, and it's okay to speak with more than one therapist before making a decision.
